BUTCH - The best of Hector and SpaceCamper

So, the time has finally come - we are still among the lucky ones. Our VW T6.1, pure gray, with long wheelbase was delivered to SpaceCamper in time before Volkswagen temporarily closed all its plants in Germany due to the corona crisis. - Now it's time to get down to business. - The guys and gals at SpaceCamper are in the process of pulling the strings. - Almost like building a house.

We opted for the ClassicOpen model. - The second sliding door on the driver's side gives us a special open-air function. Because this is where the kitchen unit is located. As soon as the door is open, we can swing out the kitchen block and fold out a worktop. The open-air kitchen is ready to go.

SpaceCamper is based on the Caravelle Comfortline as standard. - However, as this is not available as a long version in Pure Grey and this was important to us, we were able to build on the Trendline. Just configuring it back and forth so that the same equipment was possible was an act. We are grateful that this extra effort was made possible without any major obstacles or price adjustments. - Because despite all the individuality, you must never forget that we are dealing with a module manufacturer. - You can certainly tell that we are enthusiastic about the store. 

The plan was actually to drive past Darmstadt every now and then during this phase and take a few photos. But here they are already fully prepared for Covid-19. The otherwise quite public workshop has been better sealed off than Bugatti's for weeks. - I think this decision is absolutely commendable. - The only question now is whether their suppliers will be able to deliver all the necessary materials to SpaceCamper on time. - Certainly a challenge for all sides. - I think it's a great service that we get a few pictures despite the hectic times. - They live it!
