Where better to spend the 01 March, the day of the Balearic Islands - "Dia de les Illes Balears" - than in the Balearic Islands? - We would say, not only in the Balearic Islands, but in Ibiza. And to top it off, on the beach of one of the most beautiful bays on the island. Balearic Day commemorates the Statute of Autonomy of the islands, which has been in force since 1983. For visitors to the island, this day means above all that many museums open their doors free of charge and celebrate the island visitors. - But today we are longing for peace and quiet. - But how did we get to this beach?

After leaving the flea market at the Hippodrome Sant Jordi yesterday, we say goodbye to Ilona, Isa and Hugo.

For us it goes now to the north-east of the island. Our destination is the cliff, as well as the bay Pou des Lleo in front of it.

On the way north we stop at a Mercadona. - Here we usually get everything we need.

And even here on the island, the selection is huge. Quite different from the pictures we have seen from the one or other supermarket in Germany. - From fears regarding the Corona virus is here purely nothing to feel. - But Torgit still finds a reason to complain. There is no papaya today. We had them in our muesli only this morning. - But this is certainly suffering on a very high level. That's why I can't really take it seriously.

Shortly after, we sit on a blanket above the bay on a relatively flat section of the red cliff and look out over the horseshoe-shaped bay framed by a pine forest and boathouses. The water is crystal clear. At the edge of the bay is a small, well-attended restaurant. Maybe something for tomorrow evening? - In between, a small streetcar comes to the beach. Some tourists get off, take pictures and are gone 15 minutes later. - We wonder and investigate. The train comes from Santa Eulalia. The beach is part of a tour that visits a total of three beaches.

So you get an impression of what must be going on here in the summer. You can find details here:

As soon as the train departs, it is immediately very peaceful. - Nevertheless, one notices that it is the weekend. There are also a few Spaniards in the bay. During the week it was even quieter. - We first make a picnic. There is fresh baguette and in addition olive paste, cheese, cucumbers, salad, as well as salmon. - Now also Torgit is satisfied again. Hungry she gets a little moody from time to time. But that's exactly why I love her. As we always say, "Food makes you happy!"

Only later we drive on top of the cliff, which sticks here in a narrow tongue into the sea. - When I look ahead at the sea, which shimmers turquoise here, I understand why this is Hugo's favorite place. Now you could say, what does a seven-year-old boy know. But which seven-year-old has already seen as much of Europe as Hugo. He has been living more or less in a van for two years. And Hugo loves this life. His little sister Isa is not always so sure and also enjoys the peace and quiet of the finca. But Hugo is a Gipsy with all his heart. Both Isa and Hugo have learned that communication is multifaceted and that facial expressions, signs, touch are as useful as speech. I have rarely seen children who are so at peace with themselves as these two are. Above all, they can occupy themselves with themselves and with nature. - Do you know such children who have everything and still do not know what and how to play with? - Then think of the opposite and you have Isa and Hugo.

I share Hugo's taste, by the way. I don't want to say that this is the most beautiful cliff ever, but there is something magical about it. - I noticed this immediately when we visited it for the first time three days ago.

But the effect is a little more intense today. Perhaps it is because I have been intensively occupied with the cliff in the last two days. Because when I was editing the films, I looked at the shots again and again and recognized new details with every sighting. - As already written, I enjoyed the project very much. But what makes it special for me is the story, which came about more by chance and quite on the sidelines. In the meantime a very close, friendly relationship has developed between Ilona, Gironimo and us. You can feel that we think alike in many things. But what Torgit and I particularly noticed is how positively and sensitively the two of them deal with each other and, moreover, with their children.

Exactly this positive energy, this closeness I also thought to discover in the recordings. And so I tried to bring this into a story. The two knew nothing about this side work, but when I presented them the result, the emotion was as hoped for. It confirms itself once more, there is no coincidence. It falls to what is due. - What pleases me especially is that the two have given us permission to use these recordings for our blog. I feel this is absolutely not a matter of course, I see these images as something very, very personal. So we share with you what was shared with us.

Now I'm going for a swim or snorkeling? - The water here is crystal clear. After that we read a little. - At some point, the question of lunch comes up. - Do you know that, already the whole week was eaten relatively healthy. Lots of fruit, muesli, vegetarian food and then your wife suggests salad? - But I took precautions yesterday. - Torgit may poke with pleasure in the salad, for me there is salad today only as a side dish. Instead, two hearty burgers come to the lunch table, so with caramelized onions, crispy Spanish ham, gherkins, which I have previously pickled additionally in honey and chilies. In addition hot sauce, coarse pepper, salt and an additional pinch of Berbere, a spicy oriental mix. - The 300 g - beef patties I had discovered yesterday in Mercadona and taken the nice lady directly from the cart, before these came into the refrigeration. - Fresher it did not go. - Salad, my ass. - "Meat is a piece of life force"

Attention: Our place for the night is certainly only in the low season a recommendation, because the signage is clear. - According to everything we have heard, you should visit such places only at sunset and leave at sunrise, or have folded roof tents, etc..
