Let the games, er the house clearance, begin. The sale of our belongings is proving to be more time-consuming than expected. I started with the garden equipment stored in the cellar. Carrying everything up to the garden, cleaning it, taking photos (from 'crap the background isn't so nice' to 'crap the sun is in the wrong position, I've got shadows in the photo'), finding out prices online. Crap, the scarifier was only on sale again last week at Aldi, nobody is buying it now. It was the first thing to go, after just under an hour. Kärcher multi-purpose vacuum cleaner, radiant heater, clothes horse, Petromax, garden lounger - everything has to go. Is it worth hiring the lawn edge trimmer? What's the point? If I put it in for 9,-, I'll get it down to 5,-. It's not worth the effort. But what else can I do with it? The flea markets have been canceled because of the corona crisis. Anyone who needs a lawn edge trimmer right now is welcome to contact me. Contactless handover possible, or rather desired. Because our intention to hunker down in our bunker is being made difficult. It feels like far too many people are coming to us in the bunker. And as long as that's the case, I unfortunately can't risk seeing my parents. And that makes me sad.

Our new tenants visit our apartment again, wearing gloves and keeping their distance. But of course you don't pay attention and end up getting closer than you actually wanted to. A friend's son brings something over and has a chat. Thank you very much, and nice to see you again, but we actually wanted to go into voluntary quarantine.

Marc: A few days have passed since Torgit wrote these lines. We have already sold quite a few items. Bauhaus classics generate the greatest demand. Our Adjustable Table, a design called E 1027 by Eileen Gray, as well as a Wagenfeld Bauhaus table lamp changed hands very quickly, so to speak. - It's funny that something that was created in the 1920s is still in such demand today, almost 100 years later. In 1987, the Museum of Modern Art in New York added this side table to its design collection. What I find most bizarre about it is that the Bauhaus classics were designed to make quality affordable through industrial production. I would be delighted if they gave the new owners as much pleasure as they have given me over the last 25 years. - The feeling that these things went to people who really enjoy them was almost more important to me than the price I achieved for them.

Other things hurt instead. I have hired Hector, for example. After all, we can't drive two Bullis at the same time. It's a shame to see that demand is extremely low here. I had hoped that he would find a workaholic that he could also convert. If you know anyone, please let us know. We'd be delighted if you shared this link.

It is clear to us that the sale is a much greater challenge than expected. But we will master it. And then we'll be back on the street. This apartment, which we loved, in which we always felt comfortable, is no longer our home. It's time to go, it's time to say goodbye. And so we do.

PS: If you like books, please get in touch. Some of them will give up their place free of charge if you can see that they make someone happy. Just like us, in its time.
