Olympiastadion Berlin:

Torgit and I are drawn to Westend, or more precisely to Reichsstraße. Here we meet Petra, not only the doctor we trust, but also a long-time friend and confidante. - Today we trust her. Although I'm more of a vaccine lazy person than a vaccine skeptic, this year is the year. I get my first flu vaccination. A short check-up is also on the agenda. - Nothing rattles, what more could you want? - While we're in the area, we take a short drive to the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

On Olympic Stadium arrived we meet our highlight of the day, the new Citroen Ami. - High-end campers like the Morelo Empire or Concorde Centurion show us how it's done. Concorde describes its top model as a land yacht with a dinghy, or a detached house with an "underground garage". The price list for this is just under €670,000. Perhaps I should mention the subtle - ab - before the price. But you don't treat yourself to anything else. But even with such luxury liners, the "dinghy" is less about the price than the weight. A small dinghy would certainly suit BUTCH too. It would have to be light in any case. We've reached the end of the road with our weight increase.

In this respect, our current companion would fit in perfectly with the trend. But the Citroën Ami is not just a lightweight. It can do much more. With a base price of just under €6,900, Citroën has achieved a real price miracle with its new mini-electric vehicle. I also found it to be a space miracle. Only 2.41 m long, making it even smaller than the current Smart, front and rear, right and left. 28 centimeters less makes it unbeatable when looking for a parking space. But is its maneuverability just as unbeatable? - No, here the point still goes to the Smart. Its turning circle is another 25 cm smaller.

Nevertheless, I was completely impressed by this Stromer. Because as a 2-meter man, you don't expect to be able to sit comfortably in such a flea. But the French have come up with a special trick here. If you don't need to carry any luggage, the seat can be pushed all the way back. You are practically sitting in the trunk.

The Ami is equipped with lithium-ion batteries that sit flat under the floor. This ensures a low center of gravity.

75 kilometers range does not allow any leeway, but should be perfectly adequate for everyday use in the city.

Workshops are unlikely to have much fun with the small electrical cube, which supposedly consists of only 50 parts. What could possibly break? Even brakes are spared on the Stromer. Fun fact: the driver's door is hinged the other way round, so it opens forwards, while the passenger door opens as usual. The windows fold upwards like in the good old Ente 2CV. With a maximum speed of 45 km/h and a maximum range of 75 km, it is a pure city vehicle. As a light electric vehicle, it is subsidized by some federal states and can even be driven by young people. We just think it's funny. And you?

The Ami's electric motor delivers eight hp, twice as much as our blender. But that's enough to drive in the city of the future. The little Citroën is locked at 45 km/h. So we won't see it on the highway. Unless I can get it onto the bike rack.

My conclusion: I was thrilled. I would have loved to put it straight on top. I was particularly taken with the angular look. The design almost reminded me of the electric scooter design "The Boxx". But this never made it onto the road in Europe. That's different here. The first vehicles have already been delivered in France and they should be ready in Germany soon. We will certainly see it again soon, especially in city car sharing. And for our youngsters, the Ami can already be ridden in Germany with a class AM scooter license and therefore from the age of 16.
