We set an alarm clock today with the intention to take the first ferry to the national park. We want to get there before the crowds of tourists

But when we arrive at the ticket office, we are unfortunately a few minutes too late. Torgit claims the ferry would have left too early. - But either way we have to wait for the next ferry.

A long queue quickly forms. Being there early seems to have been a wise decision.

When we arrive at the waterfalls there are two options, first bathing or exploring the area. - We decide for alternative number 2 - in retrospect, this was also a good decision. So we follow the waterfalls to the middle course.

From there, two boat tours are offered. We spontaneously decide for the shorter one. So we take a small boat to the island Visovac. On it there is a Franciscan monastery since 1445. We get the opportunity to explore the beautiful island a little.

Torgit, as an old Winnetou fan, tells me that parts of the Winnetou filming were filmed at these waterfalls and in the gorge of the river. Surely there is hardly anyone of our age who does not remember it!?

When we come back from our exploration tour from the middle course to the lower course, our decision is confirmed. - In the meantime, a tourist bomb seems to have gone off here. Felt, thousands of tourists are bathing in front of the waterfalls. The exciting thing is that everywhere there are signs that bathing is prohibited. - We let times open, whether we were also bathing.
