Today I wake up in the middle of the night. - The full moon is in the sky and encourages me to get out. I stand outside for a moment and try to gather my impressions. - The moon seems to literally shine. It reflects the light through the branches and leaves of the trees back onto the small clearing, onto Hector, the water of the river and onto the opposite cliff edge. - I try to capture the moment in a photo. But as is so often the case, such impressions are almost impossible or impossible to save on a chip.

Despite the full moon, we slept well. The weather is slightly cloudy this morning. Although the first rays of sunlight are already falling on the clearing, the moon is still shining above the water, between the trees. It doesn't seem to want to part today. Although the first rays of sunlight are already falling on the clearing, it is still shining above the water, between the trees.

After three days of hot showers, it's hard to get used to the cold outdoor showers again. As the water in the river looks very clear, I tried to wash myself in the river beforehand. But apparently the tide is pushing in and the water is salty. Not a good condition for self-cleaning.

After coffee, we try to get Hector ready to go. Moving around in such a small space creates friction from time to time. This can generate heat, and today it creates tension. And when the cold is added to the mix, things can get heated. This morning is the day, we bark at each other.

We therefore decide to leave the shady forest for the time being and look for a spot a few meters further on, below the lighthouse, to hear how we are getting on. It's easier to sort things out in the warming sun. Most of the time, we don't even know what we're arguing about when we look at it from a distance. That's why we decide to leave it alone.

Instead, we set off to visit the German bakery in Conil again. Because today is brown bread day. - Nothing is worse than unfulfilled expectations. - Do you know what I mean? Sorry, but this pastry has nothing in common with brown bread. Of course you can bake brown bread a little looser. But either you're not getting the right ingredients or a classic brown bread is not for sale. But what is offered here as brown bread has the consistency of a grain roll on the inside. - Just not my day? No, I don't want to leave it at that. But I really miss brown bread now.

We set off in the direction of Cadiz - we want to stop in Novo Sancti Petri on the way. My sister recommended the kilometer-long sandy beach to us. Torgit also knows this place, she used to vacation here with her family from time to time in her mid-twenties. We explore the beach a little. And although I don't like these tourist castles, I have to admit that the beach really is a blast. So we stroll along for a while and enjoy the beach and the sea. But a glance at the clock reminds us to keep driving.

Once again, we have to replenish our supplies on the way. It's hard to believe, but it's a challenge every time. Where is the nearest supermarket, are there any known supplies, if so where can you find them in the store and so on. - You don't have to believe that Lidl is Lidl, Aldi is Aldi and Mercadona is Mercadona. - Once you've got used to butter, milk and so on, it's time to explore new things, because the tried and tested ones aren't available. Sometimes it's the little things that make up a comfort zone. - We stop at two different supermarkets to pick up the food we need, only to realize at the end that we have forgotten the most important thing, water. So we stop at supermarket number three. If you don't have any work, you just make some. (Note from Torgit: Honey, the fact that Lidl isn't Lidl and Aldi isn't Aldi could be because we've changed countries 😉

We drive on towards Cadiz. Shortly before Cadiz, there is supposed to be a parking lot where you can spend the night and have a view over the bay and a sunset. When we find it, we are really happy. We are curious to see what the night will bring. But now it's time to cook. We're having soup tonight. And first I fill up the box with our nuts 🥜. Yes, we are very excited, we found a large selection of peanuts, Brazil nuts, walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews and almonds in the last supermarket. But for now we enjoy the sunset, a very cool picture.

Unfortunately, we discover that our parking lot is also used by the village youth. - We spontaneously decide to look for somewhere else to stay. Unfortunately, easier said than done. But after half an hour of searching, we find a place for the night. We are right behind some dunes on the beach. It's empty now and we're curious to see what it will look like tomorrow, Sunday morning.

Insight of the day: There's nothing like Torgit's home-baked brown bread.
