It rains during the night and into the morning - but the weather can't dampen our spirits. We are very happy to be released back into the wild. We stock up on water and meet LillybennivanLife, a young couple from the Weilheim-Schongau district. They are traveling with an aging Westfalia, Sven Hedin. The bus, named Traudl, already has a certain patina. - We think it's cool to see such a young couple on tour in an almost historic van. Although they've been on the road since August, they haven't had enough yet. - But first they have to work in Germany for a few weeks and then they want to continue. - It's exciting how relaxed young people approach something like this and how complicated it becomes later on in life. Is it just the preservation of vested interests? Where is the willingness to take risks that we all had when we were young?

Street art can also be found in the fishing village, but in a different way.

We actually wanted to hike a little over the cliffs today. - But you know what the word actually means, don't you? - Well, we didn't actually do it, but it really fell through. - It rained all afternoon. - Good for nature and relaxing for us. Because we have the perfect view of the deserted beach, the cliff, the sea and the surf. - So we can make the most of the time and spend some time with our equipment. For example, with our outdoor shower. Somehow, somewhere, it is leaking. But we can't pinpoint the exact location. - We'll have to take a closer look at it soon. As we're flying home for four days next Tuesday, we have the opportunity to receive parcels for a change. - I ordered some today:

A waterproof bag from Ortlieb. - Because if the shower leaks, then please put it in the bag instead of on our cowhide. - Torgit gives us a note on communication: During transportation, the shower is behind the passenger seat and therefore on our cowhide. When we are standing, it is always outside, otherwise it wouldn't be an outdoor shower.

We have also ordered a so-called solar bag and a wand with a rechargeable battery. - If both arrive in time, we will test them extensively and report back. Then we ordered some new Flippi Floppis for Torgit. - I could never have imagined that flip flops would become the essential footwear for us.

You know when you have a quick look online for a few articles? - And then you don't know why time has flown by?

- As soon as I've finished, we have to take care of tonight's shopping for our dinner and find a place for the night. Because we're going to have salad, and it has to be fresh.

Today we got a tip that you could actually stand quite well between the marina and the sea in Lagos. But there was our actual location again. - The marina itself is exciting, as many circumnavigators, Atlantic crossers and Caribbean sailors start from here. Their main route leads first to the Canary Islands and then on to the Caribbean Sea in Central America.

The harbor is just as lively today. But when we arrive at the spot where we could have camped, there is one yoghurt pot* next to the other. A couple of surfers with their vans are on their way. - Not only completely uncool, but also just too crowded for us. - We could have stayed at the campsite. The Lagos train station is also close by. It stands right next to its ageing predecessor. It has not lost its charm. - We don't know whether night trains would have run. - We didn't want to test it either and looked for an alternative.

Once again, park4night helps us with this. There is supposedly a spot in the countryside 15 minutes from here. We set off quickly so that we are not surprised by the darkness.

*Here's a little note on the subject of yogurt cups. - Certainly there are those and those, as everywhere. - But the model often seems to go hand in hand with a form of camping. - We will probably never understand how to align the pitch with the satellite dish.

Even the approach is exciting. From a distance, we see an extravagant Bauhaus villa on a hillside. We drive through the small village of Luz. The route leads us through winding roads, first to the Praia da Luz - then the road suddenly climbs steeply up the hill. The path becomes narrower and narrower, and our tires spin frequently on the wet, smooth cobblestones. The path leads past some rather unusual detached houses. - At the very end of the road, we stand in front of the entrance to the Bauhaus villa that we saw from below. And our parking space? - It's practically in the front garden. In the immediate vicinity is a heath landscape that slowly slopes down to the sea. We carefully follow a sandy path. Don't get stuck now. We drive over some heather and get behind a bush. We end up between two extremely exclusive estates and the sea.

The neighboring villas are so spectacular that I simply google them. And I find what I'm looking for. The villa to our left is from Mario Martin's studio - http://www.mariomartins.com/ – Die Fenstersysteme erinnern mich stark an Minimal Windows oder Soreg Glide. –

If that's not up to standard, I don't know what is. Hector is happy, so is Torgit, and if Torgit is happy, so am I.

We end the day with a beer and coke. Instead of the train, all we hear here is the sea and the chirping of the crickets.
