Once again, our day starts with packing. However, we are slowly getting into a routine of playing Tetris for adults in the mornings and evenings. But today the reward follows immediately. - Before we start our tour, we head to the Plage de Pors Mabo, which is right at the foot of our Hector. The special thing about it is being all alone on the beach. Priceless!

Today we are not drifting, but have two direct destinations:

Hôpital-Camfrout, about 1½ hours to the southwest, and Le Fret, another 40 minutes to the west.

As most of today's route is overland, we decide to drive through the Parc Naturel Régional d'Armorique as far as possible. This is the second oldest regional nature park in France and was founded back in 1969. The route takes us past Plounéour-Ménez and Commana. If I had to describe this area, I would say: "Just like at home in the mountains, lots of basalt, graywacke and slate, but above all lots of forest, lots of green.

Then we finally reach the town sign for Hôpital-Camfrout, a small community on a spur of the Bay of Brest. Here we visit the church and cemetery.

But the main attraction is the town sign. For me, it's a leap into the past. Because I had been here about 33 years ago. - The main thing that has changed is the way we get around, back then on foot, now by van.

I've almost stayed the same. Haven't I? 😉

Now we head back along the coast. We set up camp for the night at Camping Gwel Kaër in Port du Fret. We get a pitch at the very end of the campsite. All to ourselves, with a view of the sea. Time for our evening meal: Torgit with wine, me with Coke. The special thing about it? You can still get the original here, it tastes like it used to. In general, I find that a lot of food is better and cheaper. People always say that food is so expensive in France. Tomatoes and cheese cost about half as much, but our tomatoes usually only come in two forms. Either ripe and mushy or firm to the bite but unripe. Here we have ripe and firm to the bite, simply delicious. In any case, we enjoy it while soaking up the evening sun.
