Heute treibt es uns von den Krka Wasserfällen wieder Richtung Zadar. Jedoch nur in die Richtung, denn zuletzt lassen wir Zadar zu unserer Linken liegen, um nach Pag zu gelangen. Obwohl es sich bei Pag um eine Insel handelt, verbindet im Süden die Pak Brücke, Paški most, diese mit dem Festland. Im nächsten Moment hat man das Gefühl auf dem Mond gelandet zu sein. Auf dem südlichen Zipfel befindet sich kaum Vegetation. Dennoch lohnt es sich, direkt dem ersten Abzweig hinter der Brücke nach links zu folgen. Von hier aus gelangt man zur Ruine „Fortica“. Von dort hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf die Brücke und das nahe Festland.
Our destination is Camping Village Šimuni, about 35 minutes north-west of the Pag bridge. As we drive north, we keep seeing salt pans. There is evidence that the white gold of Bug has been extracted on the island for at least 1,000 years. As our tour north leads directly through the village of Pag, we take the opportunity for a short visit. A nice, but not exciting little town. We are more fascinated by the barren landscape.
Camping Village Šimuni offers everything your heart desires. We are lucky enough to be offered a pitch right at the northern end of the campsite, right next to the beach. We grab it immediately. Only afterwards do we realize that, from our point of view, this is one of the most beautiful pitches on the huge campsite. We are far away from restaurants and entertainment and can enjoy the peace and quiet. This place offers everything: if you want to enjoy peace and quiet like us, you'll find it. But those who want entertainment will also find it. - There are several restaurants and bars. Our friend Micha, who was here just a few days ago, had good things to say. - But we would rather have a barbecue. - So we enjoy two relaxing days on the beach with a view of the island of Otok Maun.
