Today we want to go near Zadar, more precisely to Petrčane. This is about 10 kilometers north of Zadar. I remember the place as a small, then still Yugoslavian fishing village. As a little boy I ate my first suckling pig here. Shortly before we drive into the village, we see a grill on the road, with a suckling pig. - Should the world have stopped here?

The village, with its Dalmatian houses, still shows its 800 years of history today. In the meantime, tourism has also left its mark. - What has remained are the beautiful beaches, clear water, fragrant pine trees and supposedly a mild Mediterranean climate. - But today it is really, really hot. When we arrive at Camp Pineta, all the pitches are already taken.

Nevertheless, we receive a warm welcome. We are promptly offered the site owner's private pitch for Hector. We gratefully accept. - Afterwards, we realize that this temporary accommodation is the best place from our point of view. Even when we wanted to extend our stay the next day, we were allowed to stay where we were. This Camp We can only recommend it. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean. The highlight, however, is the sea, which is right next to the pitches. It is still as clear as I remember it.

And the sea urchins are still there too. - Not only did I keep the evidence in my foot, I also took it home with me. - My family doctor stole it from me there later. - That's life.

We enjoy the sunset by the sea with a glass of wine.

Insight of the day: used to be more tinsel? - Maybe, maybe not.
