The dogs of Rab<\/h2>\n

After two sunny days at \u0160imuni Camping Village on the island of Pag, we set off to explore the next island, it's Rab. Here we take a detour via the mainland, there is no direct connection between the islands. First we drive a little bit north. The road leads us through stony terrain. To the right and to the left of the road we see walls again and again, which delimit individual areas. - Suddenly we see an old fortress on the left side. On it the Croatian flag is flying. The right opportunity to take a nice picture of Hector with the flag in the background. I drive onto the area and park the van directly in front of the fortress. About 100m further there is another house. I get out and walk around the van to find the ideal perspective for the photo. Just as I think I have found it, I notice or hear how a pack of dogs rushes towards me. You can see that they do not understand any fun. This is their territory. Now it is a matter of who reaches the door of the bulli first? - In the last second I can save myself behind the wheel. - For today I go as a winner from the place. The dogs follow us a few meters and then turn back. From the outside I can still make my photo, but inside is their realm. With the good feeling to have saved my skin, we drive on.<\/p>\n

In the north-east of Pag a small ferry leads from Prizna to the mainland near Gradina. We do not have to wait long. However, this is often different during the vacation season. For us, the small stay offers the chance to look into the harbor basin. We can clearly see how crystal clear the water is here, because the bottom, which is about 10m deep, is easily visible.<\/p>\n

Our trip to the mainland is only short. Already at Stinica we take a ferry to Mi\u0161njak and thus to the island of Rab, located north of Pag. Once there, we are drawn to the sea. We look for a way off the main road. Soon we find a small stony path. I trust Hector and we try our luck. Torgit looks a bit skeptical. But we find a beautiful place and first roll out the awning. Time for an extensive breakfast. In between two quads and a car pass by. So we have to roll up the awning in between.<\/p>\n

Now it's time to explore the sea. We climb over the rocks into the water. Here, too, the water is crystal clear. Again we see quite a few sea urchins, which supposedly no longer exist here.<\/p>\n

Suitably invigorated and refreshed, we decide to explore the port town of Rab, located on the west coast of the island. Due to its many churches and town squares a really worth seeing place. The influence of the Romans is still omnipresent.<\/span><\/p>\n

Obwohl dicht an der Insel Pag gelegen, ist Rab g\u00e4nzlich anders.\u00a0Das Eiland ist deutlich st\u00e4rker besiedelt. W\u00e4hrend Pag an eine Mondlandschaft erinnert, ist Rab eine gr\u00fcne\u00a0Insel mit \u00fcppigster Vegetation. Rab\u00a0wirkt auch\u00a0eleganter und\u00a0feiner als die Nachbarinsel. Angeblich war die Insel deshalb ein beliebter Tummelplatz f\u00fcr den Adel. Fakt ist, dass\u00a0der englische K\u00f6nig Edward VIII. der Insel h\u00e4ufiger seinen Besuch abstattete.\u00a0Hier soll er und seine Gattin Wallis ungeniert s\u00e4mtliche H\u00fcllen fallen lassen haben. „Des K\u00f6nigs neue Kleider“ passte jedoch in diesem Falle nicht ganz, blieb Edward VIII. doch ungekr\u00f6nt. Angeblich ist es\u00a0jedoch ihm zu verdanken, dass Rab den ersten FKK-Strand an der Adria er\u00f6ffnete \u2013 und das bereits im Jahr 1936! – Von wegen Punta Skala.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We definitely enjoyed the stroll through medieval old town flair. Especially an ice cream. So we decide to drive a little further north. Faster than we thought we are in Lopar and thus the northern tip of the island. What now? - Look for a place here or cross over to Krk? We decide to go on the ferry. This means first buying tickets, then joining a long queue and waiting. That's what we do. Since it is still warm, we open the windows. A pleasant breeze refreshes us. But when it is time to take off, I find that the breeze has blown away not only the sultriness, but also our ticket. But how does the K\u00f6lsch say? Wat fott es, es fott, means in High German \"What's gone is gone,\" or don't lament things and don't mourn things long forgotten. I haven't forgotten the ticket yet. But now it's time to spur Torgit on. She runs once again to the ticket counter, I roll to just before the ferry, then I have to stop. Slowly one vehicle after the next passes me. In the ticket office the queue for the next ferry has already formed. But I can rely on Torgit. Shortly before closing time, we are the last to board the ferry.<\/p>\n

Nach zwei sonnigen Tagen im \u0160imuni Camping Village, machen wir uns auf, die n\u00e4chste Insel zu erkunden. Hierhin f\u00fchrt uns ein Umweg \u00fcber das Festland. Doch zuerst fahren wir noch ein wenig Richtung Norden. Die Stra\u00dfe f\u00fchrt uns durch steiniges Gebiet. Rechts und links der Stra\u00dfe sieht man immer wieder Mauern, die einzelne Areale abgrenzen. - Pl\u00f6tzlich\u00a0sehen\u00a0wir auf der linken Seite eine alte Festung. Auf dieser\u00a0weht die kroatische Fahne. Die passende Gelegenheit ein sch\u00f6nes Bild von Hector mit der Fahne im Hintergrund zu schie\u00dfen. Ich fahre auf das Gel\u00e4nde und parke den Bulli direkt vor der Festung. Etwa 100m weiter befindet sich noch ein Haus. Ich steige aus und laufe\u00a0um den Bulli herum, um die ideale Perspektive f\u00fcr das Foto zu finden. Gerade\u00a0als ich meine diese gefunden zu haben, merke beziehungsweise h\u00f6re ich, wie eine Meute von Hunden auf mich zust\u00fcrzt. Ihnen ist anzusehen, dass sie keinen Spa\u00df verstehen. Dies ist ihr Revier. Jetzt gilt es, wer erreicht zuerst die T\u00fcr des Bullis? -\u00a0In letzter Sekunde kann ich mich\u00a0hinters Steuer\u00a0retten. - F\u00fcr heute gehe ich als Gewinner vom Platz . Die Hunde verfolgen uns noch ein paar Meter und kehren dann um. Von au\u00dfen\u00a0kann ich noch mein Foto machen, doch innen ist ihr Reich. Mit dem guten Gef\u00fchl, meine Haut gerettet zu haben, fahren wir weiter.<\/p>

Im Nord Osten von\u00a0Pag f\u00fchrt eine\u00a0 kleine F\u00e4hre von Prizna auf das Festland bei Gradina. Wir m\u00fcssen nicht lange warten. Dies soll jedoch w\u00e4hrend der Ferienzeiten oft anders sein. F\u00fcr uns bietet der kleine Aufenthalt die Chance auf einen\u00a0Blick in das Hafenbecken. Deutlich erkennt man wie kristallklar das Wasser hier ist, denn der etwa 10m tiefe Grund ist gut zu erkennen.<\/p>

Unser Trip aufs Festland ist nur kurz. Schon bei Stinica fahren wir wieder auf eine F\u00e4hre nach Mi\u0161njak und somit auf n\u00f6rdlich von Pag gelegene Insel Rab. Dort angelangt, zieht es uns ans Meer. Wir suchen uns einen Weg, von der Hauptstra\u00dfe. Bald finden wir einen kleinen steinigen Pfad. Ich vertraue Hector und wir versuchen unser Gl\u00fcck.\u00a0Torgit schaut etwas skeptisch. Doch wir finden einen wundersch\u00f6nen Platz und rollen erst einmal die Markise aus. Zeit f\u00fcr ein ausgiebiges Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck. Zwischendurch kommen zwei Quads und ein Auto vorbei. So gilt es die Markise zwischendurch einzurollen.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Jetzt ist es Zeit das Meer zu erkunden. Wir klettern \u00fcber die Felsen ins Wasser. Auch hier ist dieses kristallklar. Wieder sehen wir etliche Seeigel,\u00a0die es hier ja angeblich gar nicht mehr gibt.<\/p>
